Director of Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance, Quality and Safety at Brigham and Women’s Hospital

Ms. Caryn Belisle is the Director of Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance, Quality, and Safety at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston MA.  She has been with the institution since 1999 and has been on the forefront of the advancement in healthcare technology to enhance patient safety.  Caryn received appointment to serve on the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy Advisory Committee for Chapter 159, An Act Relative to Pharmacy Practice in the Commonwealth. She has also served as President of the Massachusetts Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP).  Caryn to serves on the House of Delegates for the American Society of Health-System pharmacists, where she will serve a 4-year term representing the membership of MSHP.  Her professional interests include regulatory compliance involving: The Joint Commission, controlled substance diversion monitoring, and USP chapters <797> and <800>; pharmacy operations, and quality process improvement using lean concepts. Her research focuses on quality and safety in the inpatient setting, the impact of legislation on pharmacy practice, and new technological advances in healthcare.
