Zihe Zheng, MBBS, PhD, MHS

Co-Director, Egypt CSRT Postgraduate Medical Education Harvard Medical School

Dr. Zihe Zheng is the co-director of the Egypt Clinical Scholars Research Training (CSRT) program in the Postgraduate Medical Education Department and a course instructor for the Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation (MMSCI) at Harvard Medical School. She is also a fellow of the nephrology department at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH).

Dr. Zheng is a physician and an epidemiologist. She received her medical training in China, graduated with honors from the Capital Medical University in 2014, and completed her clinical rotations in Beijing Anzhen Hospital. She earned a Master in Health Science (MHS) degree in epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Zheng’s main research is related to cardio-renal health. Her work focuses on characterizing cardio-renal phenotypes and disease mechanism with high-dimensional data using machine learning methods, identifying novel omics biomarkers and risk factors for chronic kidney disease progression, and applying advanced bioinformatics methods to clinical research. Dr. Zheng has received competitive grant funding from National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) in support of her research. She has been nominated for the 2020 70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings as outstanding young scientist in interdisciplinary research. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
