Ameet Sarpatwari is an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and an associate epidemiologist in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Within the Division, Dr. Sarpatwari helps lead the Program On Regulation, Therapeutics And Law (PORTAL), focusing his research on the effects of laws and regulations on therapeutic development, approval, use and related public health outcomes. He has testified before Congress and multiple state legislatures on pharmaceutical policy and served on a National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine planning committee on the Role of the NIH in Drug Development Innovation and its impact on patient access.
