Program Overview

The Egypt Leadership in Medicine (ELIM) program is targeted to an audience of health professionals who are residing and working in Egypt and are seeking to develop their leadership skills. This 6-month certificate program is designed for senior and executive-level hospital, primary care, ambulatory, community and other health care facility administrators, chief nursing officers, department directors and other health care professionals with supervisory, management or executive-level responsibilities. The Leadership in Medicine program will also be beneficial to clinicians who are transitioning or seeking to transition into administrative management or executive roles. Mid-level medical and non-medical personnel and staff who aspire to become directors, executives and administrators will also find tremendous value in the knowledge and skills taught. These professionals will have a minimum of 5 years of experience post-primary terminal degree (e.g., MBBCh).

This highly interactive program is comprised of two, 4-day workshops in Egypt, online touchpoints, pre-recorded lectures, team assignments, and a Capstone project.

    Learning Objectives for the ELIM Program

    • Apply the key concepts of health care leadership in the areas of leading teams, performance improvement, and innovation to real-world problems
    • Cultivate a strategic toolkit to address real-life challenges and barriers to change within complex healthcare systems
    • Develop and sharpen personal leadership and communication skills, including in-crisis situations
    • Use Harvard Business School Case Method teaching to illustrate and learn from case scenarios in an interactive setting
    • Design a learning cycle process to plan an improvement within their own health care organization or system
    • Cultivate a national network of leaders who can offer support and partnership throughout and beyond the program
