Global leaders in health care not only include health system administrators and hospital executives, but also mid-level and senior faculty at academic institutions. While the former must have expertise in leadership, health care finance, and human resource management to maintain excellence in service and patient care, the latter must be skilled in faculty development, teaching, and curriculum assessment to lead an academic institution.
With the support of Sunway University and Sunway Medical Centre, Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Medical Education has developed the Leadership in Medicine program. This unique program includes two tracks, Clinical Leadership and Faculty Development, to ensure that emerging health care and academic leaders in Malaysia, Australia, and the Pacific region have access to the world’s foremost authorities on these timely topics.
The program is designed for senior and mid-level faculty, executive-level hospital, primary care, community, and other health care facility administrators, and health care professionals with supervisory, management, or executive responsibilities.
The Leadership in Medicine program will also benefit clinicians who are transitioning into teaching faculty, administrative management, or executive roles. Medical and non-medical personnel and staff who aspire to become teaching faculty, directors of education, directors of health care quality and safety, executives, and administrators will also find tremendous value in the knowledge and skills taught. Harvard Medical School looks forward to reviewing applications from all members of the health care community.
