Krisztina Fischer, MD, PhD, MMSc, is a research scientist in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Her research is centered on decision-making, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and designing and assessing learning experiences in medical education. Dr. Fischer has developed novel tools to hone medical trainees' critical thinking and analytic reasoning skills. She designed a novel approach for assessing preparatory materials to monitor the quality of asynchronous learning experiences and guide faculty in redesigning medical school curricula, which are essential challenges for contemporary medical schools.

Dr. Fischer is the faculty director of the Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education Program at Harvard Medical School. This two-year master’s degree program is dedicated to teaching talented physicians to be master teachers, leaders, and researchers in medical education. 

Dr. Fischer is the associate director of the Anatomy Curriculum at Harvard Medical School. She serves on the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Next Step 1 Committee and is an editorial board member at Academic Medicine. She mentors medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty in medical education research.
