Announcement Regarding COVID-19 and its Impact on HMS CME Activities

The health and safety of our community and the patients we serve is of the utmost importance, and we understand the difficulties that learners are experiencing, both personally and professionally.

Given state, federal and government agency guidance, all 2021 continuing education courses through September will be offered in a live virtual format. Please visit course-specific pages for further details.

    An email will be sent to registrants informing them of changes to scheduled courses. We encourage you to refer to the Course Updates list at the top of this page for the current status of our courses.  If you don’t see your course listed, click the link cmecatalog.hms.harvard.edu to be directed to our CME Catalog course page for further information.

    A live virtual course is conducted virtually, in real time. Participants will receive an email with log-in information. Once the course begins, registrants will receive a separate email with the course evaluation and certificate information.

    Registrants are responsible for canceling all airline reservations. Please refer to the cancellation/update email you received for course-specific hotel reservation information.

    Harvard Medical School has adjusted its published refund policy due to the uncertainty around scheduling during the coronavirus outbreak and will be refunding registrations in full for all canceled CME courses.

    Select courses are allowing registrants to hold their spot for next year. If you have been given this option and would like to hold you seat, please contact ceprograms@hms.harvard.edu. Please include your name and the name of the course you wish to cancel.

    If your activity has been postponed, you have the option to receive a full refund or can use your registration for the respective conference.

    If your activity has been changed to a live virtual webinar, you will be automatically modified to a webinar attendee. If you are unable to attend the webinar and wish to cancel your registration, please contact ceprograms@hms.harvard.edu to receive a full refund. Please include your name and the name of the conference you wish to cancel.

    When you complete the course, the posttest, and the course evaluation, your course will move from the "Active" tab to the "Transcript" tab

    • Complete the course or unit
    • Pass the posttest for the entire course or unit
    • Return to myce.hms.harvard.edu to Complete Evaluation & Claim Credits for the course or unit 
    • Download Certificate
    • You may download your certificate at any time or re-enter the course from your "Transcript" tab

    For courses with multiple posttests:

    • After completing each unit, you will need to complete the posttest for that unit
    • At the end of the unit, there will be a “Posttest” page
    • To begin, select “Attempt quiz now”
    • Answer all questions and select “Finish attempt”
    • Select “Submit all and finish”
    • Confirm submission by selecting “Submit all and finish” a second time
    • Select “Finish and review” on the next page

     

    For single-posttest courses:

    • After completing the course, you will need to complete the posttest
    • At the end of the course, there will be a “Posttest” page
    • To begin, select “Attempt quiz now”
    • Answer all questions and select “Finish attempt”
    • Select “Submit all and finish”
    • Confirm submission by selecting “Submit all and finish” a second time
    • Select “Finish and review” on the next page

    For courses with multiple posttests:

    From the page on which you see your grade for the posttest,

    • Select “Next”
    • Review “Claim Your CE Credits” info page
    • Select drop down arrow next to your name in the top right corner of the page
    • Click on Dashboard to return to your MyCE Dashboard
    • From the "Active" tab, next to the right of the course you have just completed, select “View Evaluation”
    • You will see a list of the course’s units, and all units for which you have successfully passed the posttest will appear with a red check mark next to them
    • Scroll down and select “Save and Continue”
    • Complete the evaluation questions on the following pages
    • If you have already answered the overall course evaluation questions while evaluating a different unit in the same course, your answers will be saved, but you will have the opportunity to edit those responses
    • On the last page, select the type of certificate you are looking to claim and check the box to attest to the statement at the bottom of the page
    • Select “Claim Credits”
    • Do not close out of this page
    • Disable your browser’s pop-up blocker
    • Select “Download Certificate”

     

    For single-posttest courses:

    From the page on which you see your grade for the posttest,

    • Select “Next”
    • Review “Claim Your CE Credits” info page
    • Select drop down arrow next to your name in the top right corner of the page
    • Click on Dashboard to return to your MyCE Dashboard
    • From the "Active" tab, to the right of the course you have just completed, select “Complete Evaluation”
    • Scroll down and select “Save and Continue”
    • Complete the evaluation questions on the following pages
    • On the last page, select the type of certificate you are looking to claim and check the box to attest to the statement at the bottom of the page 
    • Click “Claim Credits”
    • Do not close out of this page
    • Disable your browser’s pop-up blocker
    • Select “Download Certificate”

    • To the right of the course you have just completed, select “Download Certificate”

    • From the "Active" tab, next to the course for which you need to re-take the posttest, select “View Course”
    • On the left-hand side of the course’s main page, there will be a menu
    • Select “Grades”
    • Select the posttest that you need to re-take
    • Scroll down and select “Re-attempt quiz”
