Brian Claggett, PhD

Dr. Brian Claggett graduated with a PhD in Biostatistics from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Claggett began working with Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2012 and is now an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Claggett co-founded and directs the Clinical Trials Outcomes Center (CTOC) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he leads a research group of data scientists in addition to himself and which performs primary and secondary analyses for numerous international multicenter Phase 3 clinical trials sponsored by industry and the NIH. His research has focused on the development of novel methods for the design and analysis of clinical trials and the application of novel and underutilized statistical approaches to common clinical problems. He has contributed to over 400 research publications, including 14 first-author manuscripts and has served as the primary academic statistician for 9 major international clinical trials (published in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA and Lancet), and has been named to the 2021 and 2022 Highly Cited Researcher’s List produced by Clarivate.
