Emilie Raymer, PhD
Dr. Emilie J. Raymer is a faculty member in the Harvard College Writing Program. While at Harvard, she has received the Certificate of Teaching Excellence every semester that it has been awarded. She also has received the Dean’s Commendation for Distinguished Teaching Performance for her work in the Extension School and has been recognized by Harvard Athletics/ Women’s Lacrosse for impactful teaching and mentorship. She is additionally the faculty director of the Harvard Writing and Public Service Initiative, has served as an editor for the Effective Writing for Healthcare program since 2020, and has taught both writing and “Introduction to Graduate Studies in Biology” through the Harvard Summer School. She holds graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins and the University of Chicago, and before starting her doctorate, she worked for the National Academy of Sciences.
