Designed for clinicians and clinician-scientists in both the United States and abroad, our Global Clinical Scholars Research Training program provides advanced training in health care research and methods. Using a blended learning model that incorporates online tools, live virtual seminars and dynamic workshops, the curriculum is focused on enhancing your ability at every stage of the research process–from writing grant proposals and launching new projects to analyzing data and presenting your results.
An exquisite one-year program, Global Clinical Scholars Research Training includes online learning webinars and three in person workshops that are designed to offer a mix of traditional and innovative approaches. Each month, you will participate in five to six interactive webinars – including review sessions by faculty and special seminars from leading experts–and also have access to more than 85 prerecorded online lectures.
This program has three required in-person workshops (dates below). In between each workshop, participants should expect to spend 7-10 hours per week on other coursework, which can include live webinars, pre-recorded lectures, readings, team work or capstone related assignments. A schedule of live webinars will be released to participants at the launch of the learning website.

During the year, the in person workshops with recorded online lectures are supported by interactive webinars. Scholars have 24/7 access to learning content and can participate at the time and place best suited to their needs.
The program emphasizes team-based learning with scholars working together in teams to collaborate, discuss and problem-solve while also learning from one another. In addition, scholars will have access to program faculty throughout the year for guidance and support.
The comprehensive program curriculum features five to six interactive webinars monthly, as well as more than 85 recorded online lectures. In addition to the core coursework, you can personalize your experience by choosing a concentration (Advanced Epidemiology or Clinical Trials) and an elective (Drug Development, Secondary Analysis of Clinical Trials or Survey Design) that both align with your interests. Throughout the program, scholars are expected to develop and submit a research proposal.
Upon fulfilling the GCSRT program requirements, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. You also will become an Associate Member of the Harvard Medical School and Harvard University Alumni Associations, and will be invited to attend GCSRT program alumni events throughout the year.
